MG2 Differential Axles for OH32P02 Orlandoo Hunter Tundra. Want to improve your turning circle? Planning a go-fast project, or maybe a tow rig? Swap out your locked axles for these super-cool all-metal open differentials.
Off-roaders use locked diffs to ensure both wheels on each axle are permanently driven for maximum traction on loose surfaces. However the wheels cannot rotate at different rates in a turn. This results in understeer or’push’ and a tight turning radius cannot be achieved. Open diffs allow the wheels to turn at different rates, but mean that axle only has one driven wheel.
Permanently locked diffs and maximum traction may seem the best option for an off-roader. However in the real world off-roaders also benefit from a tight turn radius. Nobody wants to be performing an 11-point turn at the edge of a precipice, or with the vehicle at the point of tipping over. In a tight situation the push from locked diffs can often make it impossible to position the vehicle accurately to achieve the line you need.
So as with much in life, differential choice is a compromise – lose some off-road traction, but greatly improve your turning circle. Changing the front or rear axle will bring different results – or change them both for the sharpest turning of all. These open diffs will also be perfect for on-road projects based on orlandoo gear.
For some time we have offered an aftermarket differential set for the 51mm ‘A’ axles, which use brass gears. Orlandoo Hunter have adopted the design and released the official MG2 product line. The MG2 diffs come with tougher steel gears and a range of shaft lengths are available to fit nearly every model in the Orlandoo range. Consult the list below to see which axle size you require.
PLEASE NOTE: Differential axles are not available for the OH35P01 axles, which use very different internal parts. Choose the correct axle for your model – if your model is not listed, there is not a differential axle available for it
